Steps in Grace Principle:
REFORMATTING

We became willing to humbly ask God for strength to reframe our thinking: exchanging legalism for grace; replacing wrong beliefs with truths; and practicing rest, renewal, contentment, and gratitude.

RELEASE.

CHANGE.

RENEWAL.

Romans 12:2 - Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Galatians 5:22-23 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Colossians 2:8  - See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.

James 1:5 - But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Matthew 10:16 Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

Philippians 4:8 (KJV) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Reformatting one's thinking isn't about thinking positive thoughts to replace negative moods...it's about healthfully processing feelings with the help of honest thoughts and then replacing inaccuracies (lies that our brains tell us), with balanced and hopeful beliefs.

Backus/Chapman (Telling Yourself the Truth & Learning to Tell Yourself the Truth) have a specifically faith-based approach and Greenberger/Padesky (Mind over Mood) are both Ph.D.s. with years of experience.
